As mentioned on the cardio combination workouts page, bad weather has forced (well, made me more inclined) to take my cardio workouts in the gym. With boredom setting in, I've been performing occasional cardio combo workouts like that given below.

The sample workout provided below is for someone of intermediate fitness and utilitises the treadmill, cross trainer, and upright bike. The workout can be made harder or easier as you see fit simply by using the manual controls on your selected piece of cardio gym equipment to alter speed, incline, resistance, duration etc.

Remember, your only limitation with workout thinking is yourself, but, with both cardio workouts and weight training workouts, be mindful of your ability amongst other factors. So, here goes....Cardio Combo Workout 1:

Cardio Combo Workout 1 - Treadmill, Cross Trainer, Bike

Treadmill Warm Up: 3 Mins @ 3-6 kph (no incline)

Treadmill Main Workload: 2 sets of 2km with 2 minutes recovery (low intensity) in between.
Immediately proceed to the Cross Trainer.

Cross Trainer Main Workload (2:1 Ratio): Approx. 10 Mins
60 Secs - Level 5 @ 60-70 RPM
30 Secs - Level 5 @ 40-50 RPM
Immediately proceed to the Upright Bike.

Bike Main Workload (1:1 Ratio): 10 Mins
60 Secs - Level 5 @ 70-80 RPM
60 Secs - Level 5 @ 40-50 RPM

Bike Cool Down: 2 Mins - Level 2 @ 50-40 RPM
