Phantom Smart Cable: proper cable training, wherever you train

The Phantom Smart Cable is our Phantom-branded version of the Speediance Gym Nano (PHANTOM x SPEEDIANCE Tech). Having tried a wide range of smart strength equipment, we chose this one because it gets the most important part right: it feels like a genuine cable machine. Its useful digital features add to the training experience rather than getting in the way of it.

Mount it to a suitable rack and you have up to 100kg of digitally generated resistance and 5.1m of cable travel in a unit weighing just 8.2kg. With its included rack mount and carry case, the complete setup weighs approximately 10.2kg, making it practical to move between the gym, studio and other training spaces.

Four resistance modes

Choose the resistance profile that suits the exercise and the result you want from it:

• Standard Mode: consistent resistance at your selected setting throughout the movement.
• Chain Mode: resistance increases as you approach the top of the pull, changing the challenge through the range of motion.
• Eccentric Mode: increases resistance during the return phase to place more emphasis on eccentric work.
• Fixed Speed Mode: controls movement speed for a different strength and movement stimulus.

Resistance adjusts in 1lb increments, equivalent to approximately 0.45kg, so you can make small changes between sets.

More than strength exercises

The Phantom Smart Cable includes sled, ski and rowing-style performance modes, along with a HYROX simulation mode for hybrid training. It also offers isometric strength testing, reporting measures such as peak force, mean force, impulse and asymmetry. These features give athletes and coaches useful options for testing, conditioning and tracking progress.

A long cable and flexible setup

The 5.1m abrasion-resistant cable gives you room for longer pulls, varied mounting positions and multi-angle training. Speediance specifies cable output of up to 6.4m/s for faster movements. The included rack mount works with various racks, allowing the Phantom Smart Cable to turn a suitable existing training station into a versatile cable setup.

The integrated 4-inch screen provides access to settings and training information without the footprint of a large display. When the session is finished, the compact machine packs into its carry case. Additional mounting options may become available separately in the future.
